Release of National Anthem video!

Lana Del Rey released her National Anthem video yesterday (27th June) more than a week earlier than expected!

Lana Del Rey released the National Anthem video yesterday more than a week earlier than expected, Lana announced that the video would be released on the 8th of July (but who cares?! At least we got another Lana video!). Many are saying the video is 'controversial' by the way it portrays Marilyn Monroe, John F Kennedy and Jacqueline Onassis. Lana starts the video by singing the unforgettable version of 'Happy Birthday' by Marilyn Monroe and follows that by showing the life of Jacqueline and JFK. Lana then ends the video by recreating the ever so sad assassination of President JFK (at that time).

Just to update you all that it is now LESS THAN A MONTH (24 days) until Lana's new video for the single 'National Anthem' taken from her debut album 'Born to Die' is released! I am mega-excited and I hope you all are too!  

House Hunting

Lana Del Rey has supposedly been spotted house hunting in Beverly Hills yesterday (Friday 1st June).

The singer was spotted in her convertible cruising round in Beverly Hills. Lets hope she invited us round when she finds one! 

Exhaustion

Lana Del Rey has had to cancel a gig in Japan due to exhaustion.

Lana Del Rey was planning to go to Japan for a gig however, was forced to cancel because of exhaustion. The singer tweeted last night (GMT - Monday 28th May) 'Wish I could be with everyone in Tokyo but I'm really sorry I am sick. Thinking of you and I will come back soon.'

Lana Del Rey has picked up an Ivor Novello Award for 'Best Contemporary Song'. 

The singer managed to pick up an Ivor Novello Award for 'Video Games'. Lana was unable to attend the event because she is currently in Cannes, France filming for her new single 'National Anthem' and attending the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

Lana Del Rey speaking on Radio 1 with Fearne Cotton said that she had written a song for Cheryl Cole.

Radio 1 - Live Lounge

Lana Del Rey was invited into Radio 1's Live Lounge and performed a beautiful version of Kasabian's 'Goodbye Kiss'. 

Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno heard the cover of their new single by Lana and told NME how he thought the song was "F***ing Beautiful" and explained "I'm really proud. Obviously we covered one of hers, 'Video Games', so it was quite a sweet thing to do back. It's a really nice gesture. It's proper old school."

Get Hair Like Lana

Get hair like Lana's Vogue cover. Luke Hersheson from Vogue explains below!

"It's basically an old fifties set, but made modern. Back then you'd go into a salon, have rollers put in wet and then sit under the dryer and basically have it baked in. Doing it at home is definitely easier, and creates a more modern result."

You'll need L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Hot Style Constructor, Elnett Hairspray and the Daniel     Hersheson Waving Tongs.

1) Brush and dry your hair.

2) Separate your hair into sections about one inch wide by one inch deep, try to make sure they're even all over the head.

3) Use the curling iron on top of the hair rather than under it. This look isn't so much about volume, it's about the wave.

4) Twist and wrap each section of hair around the tongs, making sure you get the ends in.

5) Hold each section of hair in the tongs until it "cooks" - you'll feel the heat on the hair. Then release and let the hair set.

6) Take a vent brush and brush through the hair. It's really important it's a vent brush when brushing out a tonged curl as it has holes so won't make the style drop as it would if you used a bristle brush.

7) You'll be left with a Fifties wave. Put in some Elnett spray and a little serum and keep brushing so that more of a wave forms.

'The Voice'

Lana Del Rey will be singing live on the first UK results show of 'The Voice' according to reports.

'The Voice' tweeted on their official Twitter account to confirm that Lana Del Rey will perform live on April 29th.

Lana Del Rey's live performances throughout the release of her debut album 'Born to Die' have been criticized, especially on 'Saturday Night Live' in January. Lana's performance attracted criticism from other artists such as Juliette Lewis, who said she was like a "12 year-old in her bedroom". However, at the beginning of this month (April 2), Lana ignored the comments and came back fighting with an outstanding performance on 'Late Night With David Letterman' and got a positive response after she sang 'Video Games'.
